From 7th -16th June the picturesque villages of Goring & Streatley will become a hive of activity with over 50 cultural events taking place in local venues. Our exciting programme of events, put together by local volunteers, is set to take Festival goers beyond the realms of creativity, artistry and possibility, through the power of culture.

Tickets will go on general sale from 1st April on our website and the full detailed programme of events will be announced very soon!

Friday 7th June

One of the world’s leading mandolinists as well as a fine fiddle player, guitarist, composer and wit, Simon Mayor brings an evening of dazzling musicianship and offbeat humour with the help of an illustrious cast of friends, playing everything from Vivaldi mandolins to beautiful Irish ballads, hot-swing fiddle and sumptuous tangos. If you’ve heard them on Radios 2, 3, Oxford and Classic FM you’ll know what a treat is in store!

An intergalactic space day, with out of this world activities including crafty space creations, evening with space scientists, stargazing, and planetarium experience in partnership with local space technology company OrbAstro.

The Children's Film Festival is back! Join us and the 'paparazzi' on the red carpet, for this film premiere extravaganza, as we screen short films made by young creatives from across Berkshire and Oxfordshire. There is still time to submit a film entry.

Join true crime author Helen Saxton in conversation about her debut book, and uncover the controversial story of Amanda Knox surrounding the murder of British student Meredith Kercher in 2007. We’ll not only discuss the case, but actors will reconstruct key events to ask the ultimate question – can any of us who weren’t there that fateful night, ever really claim to know what happened?

The history of English garden design can be told in different ways, but rarely can it be told by looking at one garden. Botanist and horticultural expert Timothy Walker will share in this talk, how the art of gardening has changed, or perhaps has not, in four centuries in Oxfordshire and how the Oxford Botanic Garden now reflects garden design at the beginning of the 21st century.

Agatha Christie was one of the greatest thriller writers of all time. She lived in Wallingford for over 40 years and is buried in Cholsey. In 1926 she was at the centre of a mystery as perplexing as her books and one of the most extensive police hunts in history. Her crashed car was discovered with the famous author missing, presumed dead. She was found eleven days later, claiming she remembered nothing. Did she lie, or was it really amnesia? In this one woman show, as in every good thriller, all will be revealed!

Performers drawn from the country's finest opera houses present three bespoke performances of Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro. Produced once again exclusively for The GAP Festival by Goring based soprano Stephanie Bosworth, and performed in the glorious setting of Streatley Farmhouse.
